Unfortunately, over 50% of phone calls we get on a daily basis are from technicians who just like you, paid a small fortune to be crammed into a large class of beauty therapists, makeup artists, salon owners, & tattooists alongside those with no prior experience.

They felt left behind by the tattooist and that they were holding back others. They felt unable to ask any questions without feeling stupid.

These students left feeling completely inadequate after their training experience and they lacked the confidence to carry out the treatments alone. Quite often they were told it was their fault that they couldn’t pick up the skill!

Tired of empty promises from their trainers they felt there was nowhere else to turn as they had no or little support after their initial training. To their horror, many technicians without prior industry experience found they were required to work without insurance until they had completed all their case studies.

If you are looking into retraining then don’t gamble your hard earned money and don’t be taken in by extra long training to make up for substandard, untested, unproven and often mindbogglingly complicated courses.

You will be shocked to know that its quite common for some of the largest training companies in the UK only ask 1-year experience from their sub-contracted and all too common fly by night trainers.

Don’t be seduced again by a much cheaper price for inferior group classes as you will be yet again entangled into repurchasing their branded products for extortionate prices and invalidate your insurance if you don’t comply.

If like many of my other re-training students:

• Your Initial Training was not in-depth enough for you to feel confident to perform your own treatments
• You constantly worry about how your treatments are going to heal over the next six weeks
• You are good at one thing like brows but are not as confident in other areas like lips or eyeliner
• You are putting customers off having more treatments because you feel scared to do more
• Your treatments are too long and painful for the client which puts them off recommending you to their friends
• Your drawing & measuring is taking way too long so clients are starting to lose trust in your abilities.
• You feel embarrassed or uncomfortable to charge what you know should be charging like other technicians do
• You are not converting at least 80% of your consultations to treatments
• You find people book with you but don’t show up
• If your initial treatments look good but the colour retention is poor leaving you client disappointed
• If you do not know how to correct previous technicians work
• If you do not know how to apply the correct colour for the customer skin tone
• If you do not know how to neutralise every possible colour year after year as clients return
• If you are not confident with your initial drawing of your brow shape
• If you are letting your clients bully you or dictate how to do things when you know better
• If client demands things you know you shouldn’t be doing, like flicking eyeliner in the corner etc
• If you’re forever doing timely and costly touch ups for free on your clients
• If you are tied into your current supplier and can’t choose where to buy your products from at wholesale prices
• If you are not happy with the machine you use and would prefer another but aren’t sure what to change to
• If you have trained abroad but need to understand how to operate in the UK under UK rules and legislation
• If you simply are not getting clients due to your confidence being knocked in the early days
• If your clients never return for more treatments year after year
• If you are not getting recommendations and referrals
• If you lack the confidence to charge higher prices as you don’t relate to the full value of what you do
• If you always seem to be servicing the same type of client as you lack confidence to perform treatments on either younger or older clients, clients with different skin types, or clients with a celebrity status
• You were not given any direction or a clear path to follow on how to build a profitable business in permanent makeup
• Or any other reason which is preventing you from having a successful career in permanent makeup

Walt Disney – American entrepreneur, voice actor and film producer. He was fired from his newspaper job because he was told he lacked imagination and had no original ideas.

Colonel Sanders – founder of KFC, his secret recipe was rejected 1009 times after years of failures and misfortunes by the time he hit 40 his recipe was finally accepted and it became a hit. At 90 sanders passed away at the time had 6000 restaurant locations in 48 countries.

Steve Jobs – co founder of apple computers, he was left devastated at the age of 30 after being unceremoniously removed from the company that he built. By the time he died he had a net worth of $10.2 billion.

The Beatles – Decca recording studios rejected them because they didn’t like their sound, according to them they had no future in show business.

Oprah Winfrey – American media exec, talk show host producer. After being told her hair was too curly and her skin was too dark demoted from her job as news anchor for being too emotional, she was told that she was unfit for television.

Albert Einstein – German physicist and greatest thinkers of all-time. He was unable to speak until he was 4 years old. his teachers told his parents he would never amount to much.

Michael Jordan – played 15 seasons in the NBA winning 6 championships with Chicago bulls, told he was not good enough to play for his school basketball team, he locked himself in a room and cried.

And the list goes on …
