We Use the Words “trapped in My Job”, Because It Feels Like There Is No Way to Escape It.
Natalie trained with me last year, she’s a super super successful banker in London, working crazy hours around her children and is desperately seeking to balance her work and life more.
Success in something we don’t enjoy & can feel just as much as a trap as the poverty trap, especially when we feel we should be grateful for how well we’re doing.
So we’ve been focusing on gradual transition of industry as well as how to stay out of the dark hole of comparison.
I Did Tell Perfectionist Natalie to Only Focus on Improving Herself ...
… And not to look at the best of the best, luckily her mother and husband have been also reinforcing that while she’s been building her business.
Natalie has been showing me her beautiful permanent makeup portfolio and she’s created a lovely clinic from her home.
Without Any Marketing Whatsoever She Has Managed to Complete All of Her Case Studies and More on Recommendations Alone.
Her husband is really supportive of her career change and would like to see more of her.
Making changes will always feel scary…
The first thing we have to do is to realise there is a way out.
So we took a better view of the situation so that she could see that precious light that illuminates the tunnel.
To anyone feeling this way… You’ve got to get control back, but it won’t happen overnight.
Going Forward Natalie Will Be in a Position to Drop Down to Part Time Banking.
Paul will be mentoring her on how to build her clientele and to save time she has access to all of our ‘done for you’ templates for professional price lists, brochures, flyers and social media 12 month plan to build up.
It sounds daunting to someone who’s already working 60 hrs a week but just a few minutes per day working on her branding is all it takes to start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel again.
Natalie Told Me That She’s a Natural Pessimist. I Can’t Believe How Well She’s Done Despite Her Previously in-built Way of Thinking.
Please understand that it is a decision to change, and you can just as easily decide to look for how you can.
The secret to success is to stop focusing on why you can’t.
I know the barriers are real – at least they feel real, because they’ve trapped me when it became obvious to me that I should close down my successful salon to focus only on my passion of permanent make up.
Why is that different with careers??
If You've Got a Powerful ‘Why’… and You Hate Your Job. Start Creating the ‘How’ to Leave It.
Natural pessimist or not, it’s important to only focus on what you truly want…
Focus on the thing you want to pursue instead of the thing you want to escape.
Instead of focusing on how the money trap holds you, focus on the endless opportunities available to in your new and exciting side gig…
Pursue Only What Gives You Purpose.
Focusing on a pursuit will put you in more of an abundance mindset.
That feeling of being trapped in your high paying job also has you trapped in a scarcity mindset.
A pursuit will open up possibilities, and realising abundance makes you happier.
Natalie told me she is now enjoying the treatments, she gets lots of lovely messages and tons of referrals from happy clients and that she knows where her passions lie…
In Her (Very Limited) Free Time She Spends Every Minute Researching Permanent Makeup.
She’s super inspired by all of the incredible artists in the industry and she absolutely loves working on the business and marketing side.
She also left with some beautiful brows by myself. Time to put behind her the work she had done many years ago that she was really unhappy with. She’s had 2 sessions of colour correction and a complete reshape and they now look fabulous.
Good luck building your business… I hope you get more free time at the beach with your family.
