How You Should Greet Your Clients as a Permanent Makeup Artist

What Myself & Davina Have in Common…
… & You Should Too
During her interview with the Telegraph & Stella Magazines Deputy Editor, Kate Bussmann (see above picture), Davina spoke in length about how she felt many places, particularly Gyms & Fitnesses Centres, had a very ‘cliquey’ atmospheres.
She felt that, people going or enquiring for the first time often felt intimidated, unsure and even a little scared, and that places like this should make people, in particular, women feel more welcome.
Davina talked about her early years and suggested that such places should adopt a policy more in line with how Narcotics Anonymous meetings, welcome their newcomers.
She said “In Narcotics Anonymous meetings, they have a greeter to greet newcomers. When you first go to a meeting, you feel absolutely terrible and there’s someone there saying ‘hi, are you new, would you like a hug? I often think that gyms should employ regular members of the class and say ‘would you like to be this weeks greeter?”
Why I Feel This is so Important, Especially in the Permanent Makeup Industry…
I have always adopted the same approach that Davina was recommending here at my training academy. I know from experience how new students coming to train with me can be very nervous, anxious and even scared before they take the first step through the doors to meet me.
How do I know this??? Because they tell me nearly every single week!
You may even get a similar feeling when you ring up just to enquire about the training or are doing your initial research. After all its a big decision, a big investment and ultimately could be a big career change and can be very daunting.
This is why we have a policy here to do our very best to help you, answer your questions and give you honest advice on whether or not you would be suited to this career path.
From the moment you pick up the phone to call us, to walking through the doors to train with us, we will make sure you feel welcome and relaxed every step of the way, and I will be personally there to meet and greet you when you arrive.
This is Also the Approach I Recommend You to Take With Your Own Clients Once You are Trained in Permanent Makeup
Just like you are feeling now, or will be feeling should you come and train with us, it’s also how your clients will probably be feeling too, when they come in for their consultations/treatments with you once you become a permanent makeup technician.
Having a permanent makeup treatment can be a little scary and daunting for someone having it the first time and it’s your job to welcome your very own clients when they first come to you, with open arms, a warm smile and friendly relaxed surroundings.
If you can do this then they are also much more likely to book in with you, come back to you for future treatments and recommend you to their friends and family.
Anyway, I hope some of this helps you, and that you understand why I feel this is so important and urge you to adopt some of these suggestions in your future business, wether its permanent makeup or any other direction you choose to go down.
