3 Years after Retraining in Permanent Makeup with Katy & She’s a Fully Booked Multi-Award Winner!
From Re-Training in permanent makeup, with Katy Jobbins in 2016… to appearing on the TV/Radio & becoming a multi-award winning fully booked Permanent Artist within just 3 years.
Here is Sarah who originally trained in permanent makeup around 8 years ago with another company, but within 2 years of her original training decided to give permanent makeup a break. She didn’t work in permanent makeup for the next 3 years but then decided to get back into the industry, as she felt she had great potential and ambition to do well.
Originally she trained in a group format with one trainer and multiple students but found she got a bit lost in the crowd and rarely got her questions answered.
This time Sarah wanted something tailor-made, not an ‘off the shelf’ course. She needed something that was really going to help her & help her become the best she possibly could. After much research, in 2016 she chose to retrain with Katy Jobbins at the Permanent Makeup Training Academy to refresh her skills, learn some new techniques and basically, give it one more chance.
Sarah also completed our 2-year business & mentoring programme giving her unlimited access to our award-winning in house marketing expert and used our bespoke permanent makeup website design team to produce her website for her.
Sarah, like most of our students, regularly comes to us for her own treatments, and on her most recent visit, before Katy began working on her brows & eyeliner, we managed to speak to her for a quick progress update.

Sarah on becoming an award winning business…
‘I won my first regional award a year ago for ‘Best Aesthetics’ in the South East. Because I won that I got forwarded to the National Award (where all the regional winners are put together to find the overall winner across the country) and I won that. That was just before last Christmas. Also I don’t think you actually know this, but off the back of that, I got invited to BBC Surrey & Sussex for an interview the day after Boxing day, from the award so they wanted to talk to me about that, which was nice.’
Sarah on how this has attracted new business…
‘People then relate to it. Somebody might come in from my website and say “I see that you won an award, so you obviously know what you’re talking about”…people perceive you as more of an expert.’
Sarah on recently winning her 3rd award in under 2 years…
‘I have just won my third award which was ‘Best Aesthetician 2019’, and they approached me. I love all of that and it just reinforces what you are doing is right and that quite a lot of people like what I do.’
Sarah on working on the work-life balance…
‘Business wise its going so well, I just need to tweak it so that I am not working all the time.
